Greenhouse Gas Inventory Fiscal Year 2025/26
In the past fiscal year AOP25, greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by a further 68 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents (-7.7%) compared to the previous year. This corresponds to approximately 1.7 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents per employee (previous year: 1.8 tonnes CO₂eq).
The significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is primarily attributable to:
- An increase in the share of green electricity in Rožnov from 65% to 77% of total electricity consumption
- Fewer business trips by air
- Further conversion of the vehicle fleet and company cars to fully electric drives (GmbH)
- Reduction in the number of shuttle trips between Rožnov and Leutkirch
Commuter Mobility as the Largest Emissions Factor
Greenhouse gas emissions from commuter mobility remained unchanged compared to the previous year and accounted for nearly half of total emissions at 46.4%. Reducing these emissions sustainably continues to be a major challenge for the company.
CO₂eq Reduction through District Heating Supply
A significant contribution to CO₂eq reduction was expected to begin with the 2024/2025 heating season through the district heating supply. However, due to technical difficulties, the planned emissions reduction could not yet be fully realized. The necessary adjustments are now expected to be completed by the end of September 2025. This should allow for full commissioning of the system for the 2025/2026 heating season. By fully switching to district heating, we expect to avoid up to 200 tonnes of CO₂eq in the current fiscal year.
Part of the Climate-Neutral Alliance
As a member of the Climate-Neutral Allgäu Alliance, myonic has committed to reducing its own greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 11% annually in order to achieve climate neutrality by 2030 at the latest. The reference year is AOP21, with CO₂eq emissions of 1,262 tonnes. This results in a target value of no more than 705 tonnes of CO₂eq for fiscal year AOP25.
To date, we have offset remaining emissions by purchasing high-quality green certificates (Gold Standard), thereby supporting international climate protection projects – including clean water initiatives in Africa. Since 2024, it has also been possible to invest compensation payments not only in external projects but also in our own internal climate protection measures. The prerequisite is that these projects demonstrably avoid or reduce emissions and are documented accordingly to the Climate Alliance upon completion.
A fixed contribution of €5 per tonne of CO₂eq continues to flow into regional environmental protection projects. The aim of these contributions is to raise awareness of environmental and climate protection – particularly through reforestation, renaturation, promotion of biodiversity and species diversity, and appreciation of regional food.
