History
2020
On 26th February, 2020 the 100 best employers in Germany were announced in the Berlin event location Titanic; myonic came in 9th in the category „251 – 500 employees“.
Those companies were awarded which had an especially reliable, beneficial and attractive workplace culture from the point of view of the employees. Before the competition workplace criteria such as trust, identification, team spirit, professional development, remuneration, health promotion and work-life-balance were investigated by the independent Great Place to Work ® Institute. Basis for the evaluation was a detailed and company-wide staff survey about their experience with the workplace culture (2/3 of the assessment) as well as a management survey concerning the measurements taken in human resources (1/3 of the assessment).
In total 840 German companies took part in the current benchmark survey. They subjected themselves to an independent examination by the Institute; 100 of them were awarded within the competition „Best Employer 2020 in Germany“ with the Great Place to Work ® quality seal in 6 categories subject to the ranking lists.
myonic has participated in this competition for several years in order to continually check its workplace culture and take measures resulting thereof. The efforts are worthwhile: In 2014 and 2016 myonic was among the top five employers in the regional competition “Best Employers in the Allgaeu”, 2018 even on the 1st rank. Two years ago, the company from Leutkirch managed to reach place 14 in the nationwide award.
The demographic trend in Germany and, above all, the situation of almost full employment makes it difficult for the enterprises to find skilled workers and engineers and keep them in the company. Due to this fact the company decided 8 years ago to establish the strategic project „Exceptional Employer“ to improve its attraction as an employer and to strengthen the loyalty of the employees towards the company. Programs and innovations such as preventive health management, children occupation programs, bonus regulations or leadership trainings for supervisors and managers result from this project. The competition shows myonic how it is assessed as an employer and which topics of employer branding should be dealt with in the future. It also shows how the measurements realized are evaluated in the benchmark comparison.
“The fact that we received this award again and even have improved in the ranking significantly in spite of the ambitious competition makes us very proud. It is a great confirmation of our work of the last years and at the same time an incentive to continue our way – the best results can be achieved together in a positive company culture,” says myonic President Bernhard Böck.
The approval rating of the survey shows that the employees share this opinion: 90% of the participants agree that „All in all this is a fantastic place to work“.

2018
An unforgettable and “merry” evening in the truest sense of the word: After a heavy downpour of rain and a brief evacuation, some 350 guests in the marquee on the company’s site celebrated the 50th anniversary of MKL/myonic.
The evening’s festivities included notes bearing guests’ wishes that will later be incorporated into the paved logo of the newly laid-out outdoor area, tours for the external guests and of course a few speeches and an interview with contemporary witnesses, along with the photo-fun area and exquisite food and drink. But the highlight of the evening was certainly the unplanned excursion into the adjacent production building between the starter and the main course after things got very wet and uncomfortable in the marquee and it had to be cleared. The organizers deserve a lot of praise for their quick and calm response and for how they implemented “Plan B”.
Fortunately though, in the end it was possible to continue the evening in the marquee – albeit with a delay – and the mood didn’t suffer as a result. Quite the contrary in fact!
The three “contemporary witnesses” Alfred Graf (2nd from left), Karl Vohrer (center) and Wolfgang Miller (2nd from right) chat to host Denise Maurer (left) and Managing Director Bernhard Böck (right) and share anecdotes from their long careers.

Leutkirch/Ebensee: myonic has purchased the assets of APB Service GmbH (APB), a bearing manufacturer and trading company headquartered in Ebensee, Austria.
The strategic acquisition of APB expands myonic’s product mix and opens up an entirely new market to the German manufacturer. APB manufactures AX turntable precision bearings for the machine tool industry as well as engineered solutions for rolling mills, gear boxes, and general machinery. The company also operates as a trading company engaged in the business of supplying axial-radial roller bearings, screw drive bearings, multi-row roller bearings, and customized bearing products to the local Austrian market.
myonic is also gaining significant capabilities through the acquisition. APB’s manufacturing capabilities bring new bearing technology to the NHBB/myonic Business Unit in the form of high precision axial/radial roller bearings and larger sizes (up to 800 mm diameter) as well as new processes. APB possesses a strong management team with the motivation to follow growth strategy as well as swift and proven market penetration capabilities. Its strong customer focus and maximum flexibility has given APB a permanent competitive advantage.
myonic plans to transfer the production of AX bearings to its headquarters in Leutkirch, Germany, where it just completed the construction of a new, 3,000 m2 manufacturing facility, and establish a new company in Austria, which will manage the trading company activities of APB.
