History

A journey through time

The impetus for the “MKL/myonic journey” started in the post-war period at KaVo Kaltenbach & Voigt in Biberach and quickly picked up speed.

KaVo wanted to manufacture the miniature ball bearings required for its dental products itself and set up its own department for this purpose. For this reason, the die was cast 10 years before the company was actually founded.

1930

Foundation of RMB (Roulements Miniatures de Bienne) S.A. (Switzerland)

1958

Start of miniature ball bearing production for dental instruments in a garage at KaVo/Biberach.

1960-62

Relocation of production to the KaVo plant in Leutkirch. The department is initially named MKL Miniaturkugellager Leutkirch and is considered a branch operation.

1968

Official foundation of the company MKL Miniaturkugellager Leutkirch GmbH.

1971

MKL is sold to RMB Roulements Miniatures Bienne SA in Biel (Switzerland).

The RMB Board of Directors and the local Mayor during a company tour in June 1987.

1972

Planning begins for the new production and administration building.

1973

KaVo remains MKL’s largest customer; however, the product range has grown.

The new building in the former Wangener Straße (now Steinbeisstraße) is occupied.

1994

The assembly plant MPC s.r.o. in Roznov (Czech Republic) is founded.

2001

MKL GmbH becomes myonic GmbH and RMB is renamed myonic.

2009

Takeover by MinebeaMitsumi Inc. (JAP)

2002

Cage and stamped parts production moves into the rented building in Nadlerstraße, Leutkirch.

The new building is officially inaugurated

2012

Completion of a state-of-the-art production hall in Leutkirch, Steinbeisstraße (DE)

X-ray tube bearing segment product range

2013

Establishment of the new Machine Tool Components segment in Nadlerstrasse.

2018

myonic GmbH celebrates its 50th anniversary with employees & invited guests at a gala evening.

2016 to 2024

myonic is one of the 100 best employers in Germany (Great Place to Work ®) in 2016/2018/2020/2024

2020

Christoph von Appen joins the Management Board.

2023

myonic emerges stronger from the coronavirus crisis and achieves record profits in the two years following the pandemic.

2024

myonic s.r.o. (CZ) celebrates its 30th anniversary
