Childcare at the Leutkirch Energy Spring

Sustainability, in terms of environmental and resource conservation, has become a ubiquitous buzzword. At myonic, this concept also applies when it comes to supporting the next generation. Every two years, myonic apprentices take on the responsibility for childcare at the regional sustainability event, the “Leutkirch Energy Spring.” Around 40 exhibitors provide information on topics such as energy savings, renewable energy, e-mobility, building renovations, and financing options.

The apprentices take great pride in creating a program for the youngest visitors and managing the project from start to finish. This is a particular challenge, as each time they must present something new and establish a connection to “energy” and “sustainability.” In 2019, young visitors had the opportunity to build a solar-powered Mars Rover over the course of the two-day exhibition, alongside other crafting and painting activities. The apprentices and trainers at the childcare booth shared a lot of interesting information about ball bearings and explained the various apprenticeship professions with enthusiasm.

Given the success of this initiative and the consistently positive feedback, the future of the myonic training workshop seems assured for the next generations as well.
